Every time we visit Silverwood, I’m reminded why it’s such a gem for families. There really is something for everyone.
Since our kids are 6, 4, and 2, I thought it might be helpful to share what each of them loved most this year.
One really interesting thing we noticed this year was kids can change from year to year! Rides they loved one summer might feel different the next, and that’s totally part of the fun of watching them grow. This was such a good reminder for our family.

Here’s our breakdown of favorites by age.
6-Year-Old Favorites
Our oldest actually surprised us this year.
Last year when we visited Silverwood, he rode Tremors twice and loved it. But this year he was feeling a little more cautious and wasn’t as interested in the big adrenaline rides. It was a good reminder that kids’ comfort levels can change from year to year and that’s completely okay.
Instead, he gravitated toward rides that were a little more relaxed.
• Tiny Toot Coaster
This was a big win for him. It’s mild enough to be fun without being scary. Since the whole family can ride, it gave him the confidence to join in and enjoy without feeling pressured.
• Butterflyer
This ride feels like a giant swing soaring back and forth, and he absolutely loved that flying feeling without it being too intense.

He loved this one because he got to feel in control. Kids get to choose whether to fly low or high. I think that made him feel comfortable and confident.
4-Year-Old Favorites
Maverick is our thrill seeker. If it goes fast or spins, he’s in line.

• Tremors
Yes, you read that right… at just 4 years old, he’s already braving Tremors, one of Silverwood’s biggest coasters. He finally hit the minimum height requirement. After his first ride, he couldn’t stop talking about it. He’s officially hooked and now counts down the days until he’s tall enough for the rest of the big rides.

• Red Baron
This ride was another favorite for him. I think being able to ride it with his brother made it extra special.
• Frog Hopper
The little bursts of bouncing and dropping were the perfect thrill for him. He loved the anticipation every time it bounced. The giggles were my favorite part of this ride!
2-Year-Old Favorites
Our youngest may be little, but she’s already found her go-to rides.
• Carousel
The carousel is Baylor’s absolute favorite. The second it’s over, she’s ready to hop right back in line.
• Tiny Toot Coaster
This was the most adventurous ride she was tall enough to go on, and she thought it was so much fun. Her tiny scream sitting next to me was one of the cutest things ever!

• Kiddie Copters
One of the sweetest moments of the day was watching her ride this with her older brother. He took his role very seriously helping her and making sure she was ready to go. They both felt so proud riding together.

• Climbing Trees (Critter Camp)
If you’re looking for a great play break, the Climbing Trees structure in Critter Camp is a lifesaver. It’s a lifesaver. It’s built to look like a giant tree fort, and it’s super easy for parents to keep an eye on their kids while they run, climb, and explore. Baylor could have stayed here all afternoon.

• Antique Cars
This one was another ride that the whole family could enjoy together. It felt more like a little adventure and less like a ride! My kids felt like they were going “behind the scenes” of Silverwood!
Tips for Families Visiting Silverwood

• Check Height Requirements Early
Silverwood makes it easy with signs and maps, but measuring ahead of time saves a lot of time and avoids disappointment when kids find out they’re not quite tall enough for something.

• Don’t Skip Critter Camp
If you’ve got younger kids, Critter Camp is a must. Between the climbing structures, gentle rides, and space to run around, it’s the perfect place for little ones to burn off energy while parents take a breather.

• Time Big Kid Rides During Nap Time
Baylor is still in her nap era, so we tried to time the rides that only the boys could do during her stroller nap. It worked out perfectly. She got some rest while the boys tackled a few of the bigger rides. Sometimes the best theme park strategy is simply working with your kids’ natural schedule instead of against it. Once she woke up, she was ready for the next adventure!

What makes Silverwood so special for families is that it grows with your kids. One year they’re riding the carousel and exploring Critter Camp, and before you know it they’re ready bigger rides (even if you aren’t ready for that!). No matter what stage your kids are in, there’s always something new for them to discover… and that’s part of the Silverwood magic.

Hi, I’m Sadie! I love exploring and sharing about our community through my platform, Mom What’s Next. I had always had a love and passion for story-telling, which led me to pursue a degree at Washington State University. I spent 8 years working my way up the ladder in the news department where I honed my skills in media and communication. I “retired” to start a family. This new chapter brought me to start Mom What’s Next, a platform dedicated to exploring and sharing family friendly adventures and local businesses with other families. My passion lies in discovering new places and experiences, and nothing brings me more joy than taking my kids on new adventures.
