One of the things our kids look forward to almost as much as the rides at Silverwood… is
exploring the gift shops. Each store has its own personality, and it’s fun seeing what catches the
kids’ attention along the way.
During our most recent visit, we explored several of the shops around the park and found some
really fun items the kids loved. Here are a few of our favorite finds.

One of the first shops we wandered into was the Mine Shack, and it immediately became a
favorite for the kids. The whole shop has a fun explorer theme, which made them feel like they
were gearing up for their own little mining adventure (which you can also do!)
The item that caught their attention right away was the explorer mining helmets and lanterns.
They come in several different colors, which was perfect since each of the kids wanted to pick
their own.

The Mine Shack also has a great selection of gems and rocks, and the kids spent a long time
looking through all the different options. If you have kids who love collecting rocks or anything
treasure-related, this is definitely a shop you’ll want to stop in.
Another shop we loved exploring was the General Store Mercantile. If you’re looking for classic
Silverwood souvenirs, this is definitely the place to stop.
This shop has a little bit of everything. You’ll find logo apparel and mugs to stuffed animals and
keepsakes, so it’s easy to find something for everyone in the family.

One of the things my kids immediately gravitated toward were the Silverwood stuffed animals.
Some of them were even wearing tiny Silverwood hoodies, which was pretty adorable.

Branson also found a tiny Silverwood snow globe mug that he thought was the coolest thing
ever. I love finding souvenirs our family loves with the logo on it because every time they see it it
reminds them of all the fun we’ve had.

One item that really caught my attention were these carved wooden animal boxes. These were
so unique and beautifully made. Each box fits together like a puzzle and is shaped like different
animals.

Branson thought the tie-dye Silverwood bucket hats were awesome. Not only are they fun and
colorful, but they’re also really practical for a full day at the park when the sun is out.

The boys were also fascinated by the collapsible water bottles. I thought these were such a
smart idea for a theme park day because they can expand when you need them and collapse
down when they’re empty, making them easy to carry in a backpack or stroller.

We also spotted a display full of Silverwood magnets and bottle openers, which make great little
souvenirs if you want something small that still reminds you of the trip.

Of course, we couldn’t leave Silverwood without stopping in the toy store.
This store is packed with toys, stuffed animals, games, and more. Some items are Silverwoodthemed souvenirs and some are classic toys kids just love.
The kids had a blast checking out all the different toys.

And then there was the giant golden rubber chicken, which had us all laughing!
Baylor immediately gravitated toward the stuffed animals, and there were so many adorable
options to choose from.
One thing I really appreciated as a parent is that the shop has options for every price point. It’s
easy to find something that fits your budget.

One thing that always makes me smile when we visit Silverwood is seeing the collectible
medallion machines.
I remember collecting things like these when I was a kid… along with those penny machines
where you flatten a penny and imprint a design on it (there are a few of those at Silverwood
too!). There’s just something nostalgic about little keepsakes like this.
The kids were immediately curious when they saw the machine and loved watching the
medallions drop down after choosing one. Creating your penny or getting your medallion kind of
feels like its own little activity!
I also love that these kinds of souvenirs are usually at a really approachable price point, which
makes them an easy “yes” when the kids want to take something home from the day.

If you’ve ever taken kids into a theme park gift shop, you know the struggle… they usually want
the very first thing they see.
But the challenge is that once we visit a few more stores, they almost always find something
they like even more.
Over time, we’ve come up with a system that works really well for our family.
Typically, each of our kids gets to choose one item to take home as their souvenir for the trip.
But instead of deciding right away, we do something a little different.
When they see something they love, I let them take a photo with it.

That way we can walk through the store, enjoy looking at everything, and leave without buying
anything right away, which means no pressure and no tears.
Before we leave the park, we go through all the photos together and each child chooses their
very favorite item.
It helps the kids slow down and really think about what they want most, and it makes the
souvenir feel even more special when they finally pick it.
Plus, it lets us explore all the shops without feeling like we need to make a decision in every
single store.

I had always had a love and passion for story-telling, which led me to pursue a degree at Washington State University. I spent 8 years working my way up the ladder in the news department where I honed my skills in media and communication. I “retired” to start a family. This new chapter brought me to start Mom What’s Next, a platform dedicated to exploring and sharing family friendly adventures and local businesses with other families. My passion lies in discovering new places and experiences, and nothing brings me more joy than taking my kids on new adventures.
