I usually go to silverwood for my birthday and usually go with my parents but this year was a hard year for us and we weren’t able to afford going. I have been to silverwood for my birthday as a tradition since I was little but with Covid happening we weren’t really able to go. I really hope I could go again this year because I do not want the tradition to stop. It is one of the only times of the year we get to travel because of how expensive it is now to go anywhere!

Summer just isn’t complete without a few visits to Silverwood! My favorite memory is a trip with my daughter when she was about 5 or 6. We’d had our last trip of the season planned for weeks but when the day came, it was pouring rain. We went anyway. The park was largely empty. She wore her rain boots and splashed as hard as she could in every puddle. We rode every kiddie ride twice that day. Silverwood is a place for summer memories.

Where do I start! Boulder Beach is amazing, from the toddler area to the bar in the lazy river. The magic show is the best I’ve ever seen and fantastic husband Nick and wife duo! All the rides they started out with Timber Terror to the rides newly added Stunt Pilot! Sometimes living here locally we don’t realize how lucky we are to have this piece of paradise so close to home and then get so busy working we keep putting “the once a year trip” off due to having no time or too exhausted from working. And before we know it, the summer is over. My son reminded me this year that we didn’t go last year or this year. I would absolutely love this opportunity!! This has always been on my bucket list to go, but I’ve never had the chance to visit Silverwood yet. I’m heading off to college soon and this would really be the perfect last memory with my mom. She’s my best friend and it’s really going to be hard leaving and this would just be the best way to say goodbye.

I can remember going to Silverwood when I was a child. My parents worked a lot so that was our “vacation”. My parents would make a whole weekend of fun. My mom always enjoyed the train and that was the first the we would always ride on. My mom has health issues and can’t get around very well, but I always remember those moments with her. Now fast forward nearly 30 years later, I have a family of my own and guess what? We hop on the train as soon as we get there.
I’ve never been to Silverwood, but a few years ago a friend said it was an amazing place to take my kiddos. Finances and life have not allowed me as of yet. I kept the torn paper I wrote the name on so I wouldn’t forget if ever given the chance. Life is strange, I was cleaning out a folder and came across my not about a week ago, then today a friend posted a check in at Silverwood, the post said they had never been and heard good things and would share more after their adventures started. Scrolling a little more in Facebook and this entry came up. So I figured it was a sign to try and win tickets.

We love Silverwood! Actually Ive been going since it first opened in the late 80s. I went with my girl scout troop and there was a magic show on main street, train and animals. We usually only go once a year but this is the first year my kids are old enough I’d love to take them one more time before school starts.
