Scarywood 2025: Your Guide to Thrills & Chills PLUS A Scarywood Q & A

October 6, 2025.Sara Jean.0 Likes.0 Comments

October is here, and you know what that means; Silverwood has undergone a Spooky-Season makeover, and Scarywood is officially open for business!

This is our number one favorite October event, and we look forward to attending every single year. Scarywood is perfect for a date night, big groups, and anyone who loves a good scare.

Wondering what to expect at Scarywood? We’ve got you covered! We’ve even included a Q&A section of this post with answers to the questions we’re asked most frequently. Now sit back, relax, and prepare to be SCARED!

Scare Zones

There are ten “Scare Zones” located throughout the park. You can expect LOTS of character interaction, jump scares, and screaming (okay, maybe the screaming is just us). Scary clowns, zombies, haunted dolls, and sooo much more are lurking in every dark corner, so beware!

Haunts

There are five Haunts (AKA the main attractions) at Scarywood. Look out for cannibals in the Blood Bayou, Creepy Clowns in the Chuckles 3D Sideshow, mummies in Pharaoh’s Curse, zombies in Planet Zombie: Lights Out, and, our personal favorite, The Swine: Bigger and Badder. Think the three little pigs and some big bad wolves, but they all have chainsaws and you’re stuck in a corn maze with them. Oh, and you can totally walk through the little pigs’ houses, but watch out for Mama Pig; she hurls out some very humbling commentary about each guest who walks through the door.

Rides

Many rides are still up and running during Scarywood! There is something extra fun and scary about riding these in the dark with the spooky sounds and characters echoing in the park. Also, Timber Terror runs backwards, something we all need to experience at least once in our lives!

Dining

Silverwood is known for its delectable sweets and treats, and Scarywood has plenty of these to offer, with a spooky-season twist, of course. (Pumpkin Spice Funnel Cake, anyone?) Lindy’s  also offers Blood Bags, an adult beverage so popular last year that it’s returning for the 2025 season.

A new addition this year is Monster Meal, which takes place in the Theatre of illusion. You can order the full meal or pick and choose off the menu (we went with Hot Toddys) and dine with some very spooky characters, on-screen and off.

Scarywood Q & A

We promised you answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Scarywood! Still have questions? View Scarywood’s official FAQ page here!

Q: Where can I buy tickets to Scarywood?

A: Tickets to Scarywood must be bought online ahead of time! We cannot stress the importance of this. Tickets are limited, and can not be bought at the door. Order ahead here!

Q: Is there an age requirement for Scarywood?

A: Scarywood is not recommended for children under 13, a recommendation that we strongly agree with! There are no “child-friendly” haunts or scare zones for the kiddos–trust us on this.

Q: Is Scarywood really scary, or more on the “cute” side?

A: There is nothing cute about Scarywood. It is a truly frightening, super fun experience designed for people who enjoy a good scare!

Q: Is there anything less-scary for those who don’t enjoy being scared?

A: Jump-scares and frightening characters are literally everywhere in Scarywood! If you don’t enjoy being scared, this may not be the best activity. (If you DO enjoy being scared, you’re going to the best place!)

Q: Is there a way to indicate you don’t want to be scared/followed by creepy characters?

A: Yes! You can purchase FrightLight necklaces at Scarywood that indicate you would prefer the characters in the Scare Zones not approach you. However, we should mention that while these work in the Scare Zones, they won’t apply to the Haunts, so if jump-scares aren’t your thing, stick to the rides!

Q: Are there any changes to the haunts this year?

A: Yes! Every year Scarywood truly makes the haunts bigger and better. We always notice big changes (that’s what keeps everything fresh and exciting!). The biggest changes this year were made to the Swine haunt, with the addition of wolves and more piggy houses.

Q: What’s the wait time for lines? Will I make it into all 5 haunts?

Of course wait time will vary depending on when you go, but in our experience we’ve never had a problem visiting every haunt. We always recommend prioritizing the haunts and rides that are your absolute favorites, and then seeing how much time you have to spare!

Q: Is Scarywood open every day in October?

A: Scarywood opens on Friday, October 3rd and ends on Sunday, November 2nd, from 7 PM-12 AM. The park is open every Friday-Sunday for the whole month. You can view the full calendar of operation here!

Q: Can I wear a costume to Scarywood?

A: We get this question pretty frequently! No, costumes are not allowed in Scarywood, as that can make it hard to differentiate between cast members and guests.

Q: Can I use my season pass to get into Scarywood?

A: No, Scarywood tickets must be purchased separately.

Q: How would you rate Scarywood on a scale from 1-10?

A: !0/10, no notes!

Q: Are there any Scarywood ticket giveaways happening now?

A: Actually-yes! You can enter on Silverwood’s recent blog post, Behind the Scenes: An Insider Look at Silverwood’s Transition to Scarywood

Whether you’re there for the rides, the haunts, some spooky treats or all of the above, Scarywood is the ULTIMATE destination for all things spooky, scary, and Halloweeny. What are YOU most looking forward to at Scarywood this year?
