Let’s Prepare for a FULL DAY at Silverwood as a Family of 5
Have you ever spent a FULL DAY at Silverwood?
What does this even mean? What does a full day at Silverwood look like? Well friends, it can look like spending time from opening to closing at the park! Gathering at opening, around 11am in the morning, to embark on a wet, wild, and whimsical time at Boulder Beach. Followed by a transition, around 2pm in the afternoon, enjoying a relaxing ride on the enchanting Train. Finishing the day tackling the riveting roller coasters, impressive magic shows, and engaging in the arcade/ carnival areas. Preparing for a full day at Silverwood may seem like a daunting task but let me remind you to keep it simple. Following these steps and simple packing lists will set your day up for ease. The key is to keep it simple, and that will take all the pressure and stress off, so that you can enjoy the day to the fullest (quite literally)!

Here are 4 things to pack the night before Silverwood:
Preparing lunches and snacks to save time and money.
I usually prepare our lunches the night before we go. This usually consists of simple sandwiches or chicken burritos, with cut watermelon (easy electrolytes for the kids to stay hydrated), and some homemade treats. Snacks we keep easy as well. Usually, it is a variety of granola bars, jerky, or homemade Jello! I store them in some reusable containers and that’s it! I put it all packed up in the fridge the night before so I’m not preparing this the morning we are headed out the door. The next morning, I throw everything in a Soft-shelled cooler (12x12x12) and that’s it! Don’t bring large or hard-shelled coolers otherwise you will have to leave it inside your car! I have learned this the hard way. The day is not lost if you do, you just grab a stamp at the gates on your way out and you can eat at the car and come back to enjoy the rest of the day.
Water bottles.
I always fill water bottles with ice water the night before and put them in our Boulder Beach bag in the car. We always begin our day at Boulder Beach! The great thing is you can go to any of the beverage kiosks, and they will refill them with ice water as many times as you need! You never have to worry about running out.
Put the stroller/wagons in the car the night before.
No question about it, strollers or wagons are non-negotiable. Especially if you have littles. We have kids under 10 and we bring our wagon for our full days! They carry all our life vests/swimming gear after the water park, our cooler with snacks, water bottles, and more. I absolutely love that you can park them at each ride, and we have never had any issues with things going missing!
Pack the Boulder Beach bag.
When we commit to a full day we always start at Boulder Beach. This bag will have our towels, sunblock, extra dry clothes, and life vests. They do provide vests for free on a first-come basis, but we like to bring ours. That’s it!

Now that you know what to pack, here are 4 steps to make the most of your full day at Silverwood.

Hello I’m Shawna! I am a stay-at-home mom, who homeschools, has a slight obsession with iced coffees, and I love living north Idaho! I have been married for 11 years and have two biological kids and one foster daughter who will soon be adopted. We have lived in North Idaho for seven years and have visited Silverwood the past five years. Our kids are finally at an age where fond memories are continuing to be created every year. We make many group trips throughout the summer with friends, and it has become quite a tradition! I love to write and really enjoy sharing experiences with my Sandpoint community. I truly feel incredibly blessed to live here and serve others in the region. I have a small sourdough bread baking business and find joy in sharing that. The most important aspects of my life are my love for the Lord, loving my family, and serving those in my community.
