Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park sits on over 221 acres! With so much to see and do it can be hard to fit in all the fun in one day. If your family wants to ride all the rides and splash down all the water activities during our peak season (July-August), then tackling the park in one day might be a tricky task. Here are a few tips and tricks on how to experience all the fan favorites in just two days.
Many of our guests drive miles and miles just to spend their two days off at our park! Summer time is busy and we understand that sometimes this is all the time our guest have to come out and enjoy our park all summer! Luckily there are ways to fit in the best rides and attractions in just 2 days!
Come on a Wednesday or Thursday
Toyota drivers have the opportunity to get FREE admission to the park on two different Tuesdays in the month of July during our Toyota Tuesday promotion. These days can get busy. But if you are able to get away from work on a Wednesday or a Thursday you will save some time from waiting in longer lines. This saves more time for fun!
Purchase the 2 Day, Any Day
If you are looking to get a discount during our peak season, then try to purchase your tickets online in advanced. You will always save money versus purchasing your tickets at the front gate. The best part is that you get a discount for buying the 2 day ticket, over the single day admission. With this ticket you don’t have to pick a specific date, and you don’t even have to use it consecutively.
Map Out Your Day
Taking a look at our park map in advance might help you and your family decide what you don’t want to miss. Most guests like to go to the water park first since it does close before the dry park. But if you and your family have been counting down the days to ride the coasters, head there first! You can even utilize your time more if you ride the train while your more adventurous kiddos want to ride Tremors for the third time in a row! That way every member of your family feels like they didn’t miss out! You also might want to consider heading to the rides that tend to have the longest lines first. The most popular rides at the park are Thunder Canyon, Tremors, Timber Terror, Log Flume, Avalanche, and Ricochet Rapids. The magic show can also fill up fast, so if that is something your family wants to do, plan on going to the 3:00 show.
Rise and Shine
The gates to the park open at 11am, and those few extra hours before the late risers show up are golden. If you and your family decide to come right when we open, there is a good chance that you will be able to walk onto some of your favorite rides! It is even nice if you want to ensure that perfect spot by the pool. The Courtyard is open by 10 am, so grab a coffee and pastry at the coffee shop. Then get in line at either entrance. Where ever you want to go first.
Stay Late
Sometimes guests tend to take off after the water park closes. So if you stay late, you might get more riding time! Our hours of operation vary depending on when you plan on coming. Please check out our calendar before you arrive to plan accordingly.
One Day at Silverwood, One Day at Boulder Beach
You can easily spend one whole day at the water park and one whole day at the dry park. If the forecast is a little iffy on one of the days during your visit, head to the dry park and then come back to the water park when it warms up. This also saves you time changing your clothes during the transition of each park.
Stay Close
Our guests love being able to camp just a few steps away from the park. This saves on commuting time and just leaves more time to play. You don’t have to worry about packing up the car each day. You can just grab your bags and walk on over! There are also other campgrounds and hotels nearby that save guests time and money. You can learn more about them here.

Just fyi from my experience last summer, if you have little ones (or big ones!) with sensitive feet…Boulder Beach has very rough, grooved concrete in order to keep people from slipping. I thought I had pretty tough feet, but my bare feet hurt so bad by the end of the day! Bring water shoes or flip flops to wear, you can just hold on to them while on a ride!

It’s a summer tradition. We drive for hours and hours to make it happen.
I took my young children to Silverwood many years ago when it was a very small amusement park, very few rides and no Boulder beach. I’ve been coming back ever since, now with my grown children and grandchildren. We love it. Prices are still affordable, the park is always clean, and the employees are great. Thank you Silverwood for almost forty years of memories!
