Don’t Forget About The Corkscrew

Look, I get it. Silverwood has all kinds of bigger, faster, newer thrill rides. And by the way, they are all fantastic individuals. I really like all of them.

But I’m realistic about things. That huge green and blue coaster is the Aftershock. Me? Nowadays I’m more like the Afterthought.

Ok that was kinda dramatic.

Listen, if you want the most possible thrills per second, do NOT leave without riding Tremors, Timber Terror, Aftershock, Spin Cycle, and Panic Plunge. Under any circumstances. I mean that.

But before riding them, and this part is key, come take a warm-up lap on the Corkscrew. Why? For the same reason you stretch before going for a run.

I’ll help you get used to g-forces before you feel them in much larger amounts. You can use my double loops to prepare the inverted thrills to come later. Even your vocal chords can get a solid warm-up.

And what if you’re a coaster newbie? I’m the IDEAL way to dip your toes in the water. It’s like Roller Coaster 101—you gotta pass it before you can move up the ladder.

To conclude my sales pitch, just let me say that I’m also a legit piece of theme park history. When I debuted at Knott’s Berry Farm in 1975, I was the first coaster in the USA to take riders upside down. Back then, I was the thrill ride. And it was awesome.

Nowadays, I’m not the headliner. But I know my role and I’m happy to embrace it. I mean, I still have one of the better jobs on earth, right?

Oh shoot, the park is about to open. I gotta run.

I’ll leave you with this—when you see those other coasters on billboards and TV commercials, just remember where the party starts.

Just remember the Corkscrew.

Yes the corkscrew is good to warm up but I enjoy starting off back seat on aftershock because it makes it much more intense 😀
