We love nothing more in the summer than our days with the kids at Silverwood Theme Park. From carnival rides to water slides and everything in between, our days are jam-packed with fun and excitement from the moment we enter the park until we leave at the end of the day!
One thing we’ve learned about spending the day at Silverwood with young kiddos is that, as much as they love to go-go-go, it’s really important to find time throughout the day to rest. At Silverwood, there are plenty of ways to take a break while taking advantage of everything the park has to offer.
Here are some of our favorite ways to rest during a big day at Silverwood:
The Magic Show/Theater of Illusion Pizzeria
The magic show runs three times per day: 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 7:00 PM. One of our favorite ways to watch the magic show is to time it up with dinner so that we can take some time to rest and get those tummies full! The Theater of Illusion Pizzeria is attached to the theater where the magic show plays, which makes it an easy and convenient (not to mention delicious!) option. Plan to arrive at the theater 30 minutes to an hour before showtime if you go this route, and the pizza line can get pretty long, and you’ll want to snag a great spot to watch the show!
The Train Show
The train show runs thirty minutes and is the perfect way to rest and recharge! There are two train show options to choose from: the first is the Great Train Robbery, which is very interactive, and the other is A Trip to Yesteryear, which is a guided tour through Silverwood’s back forest. The train show schedule is posted outside of the train station, so be sure to check for show times upon entering the park!
The Movie Theater
The Movie Theater sits on Main Street next to the High Moon Saloon and is one of our favorite places to take a break any time of the day! Classic Three Stooges episodes play on the big screen continuously all day long, and we love to grab some popcorn or candy at the concession stand before heading into the show, making it a perfect snack break.
Lindy’s
Lindy’s is Silverwood’s sit-down restaurant, located right by the train station. Lindy’s is the best if you want to rest and enjoy a great meal. We all love the decor, too; vintage pictures, a giant fireplace, and a charming waiting area with couches all embody the yesteryear charm of the park. We love coming to Lindy’s for dinner after a busy day. They have a great kid’s menu, and we love the cheeseburgers!
The High Moon Saloon
The High Moon Saloon is perfect for the whole family! Marvin the Moose and his friends delight the littles with their adorable show. If it’s lunch or dinner time, try their yummy paninis with a side of potato chips!
Silverwood Coffee Roasting and Trading Co
If you haven’t visited the Silverwood Coffee Roasting and Trading Co, here’s your sign to do so. It’s a combination gift shop/cafe that offers coffee and a whole lot of amazing treats. It also has a large variety of seating, and while we highly recommend ordering one of their delicious coffees or treats, it’s not required! We ate our lunches from home in this spot once, and it was perfect. Think couches, coffee tables surrounded by cozy chairs, tables that seat four, etc.
Ice Creamery
We never, and I mean NEVER, leave a day at Silverwood without stopping by the Ice Creamery. This is our favorite way to end our day at Silverwood. The ice cream is creamy, delicious, and HUGE!
Victorian Coffee Shop & Giant Chess Board
The complete and utter charm of this cafe cannot be missed. We always stop in for a coffee or hot cocoa for the kiddos, especially on a cooler day, when we sip our lattes by the fireplace. If it’s later in the day, we always stop by so the kids can play with the giant chess set (and we can sit under the giant umbrellas and recharge).
The Quiet Garden
We discovered the Quiet Garden last year and fell in love! Located in Critter Camp, it offers benches surrounded by the shady trees and misters! There are also beautiful bird houses that the kids love looking at. This is perfect for a quick snack, lunch or rest with tiny ones while the older kids are going and going.
Mine Shack
Mine Shack, our favorite low-key activity at Silverwood, is located in Critter Camp. Head inside the gift shop where you can pay for the kiddos to have the ultimate mining experience! The cave area where the kids can mine for gems is cool, calm, and quiet, making it the perfect spot to rest while still engaging the kids in awesome activity.
BONUS IDEA
Cabana at Boulder Beach
Our all-time favorite way to get everyone some rest at Boulder Beach, Silverwood’s incredible water park area, is to rent a cabana ahead of time and plan on using that as a “base” if we’re spending the entire day at the Water Park. Complete with lounge chairs, a dining table, refrigerator and a safe for your belongings, we have found that a cabana is well worth the investment for the day. The youngest amongst the kiddos have even napped there!
We LOVE a big, full day Silverwood! We also love that there are so many ways to rest and recharge throughout the park so we can enjoy a day at the park to its fullest!
