All Spring long, the excitement has been building about the new seismic upgrade of the iconic wooden coaster at Silverwood Theme Park, Tremors.
Why do so many find themselves immediately drawn to wooden coasters? I like to think it’s the overall personality and charm of wooden coasters. I mean, they are historic after all with the very first roller coaster in America being built out of wood back in 1884. So, there is just something nostalgic about a wooden coaster. Yet on the contrary, wooden coasters can also be rather jarring and “brain-rattling” for some. But Silverwood responded to that with “say no more” and made it their mission to enhance the ride to provide a better experience for all.
The enhancements include brand-new Millennium Flyer trains, installation of 208 ReTrak steel coaster track, and a second train. What does this mean for the rider? A smoother and faster ride with shorter wait times. So, not only will the ride be more enjoyable for all, but you also won’t have to wait in line as long. That is a win, win!
Well, the much-anticipated day had finally come, the day to give these new enhancements a whirl and see if it really does make a difference to the rider’s experience. So, I packed up the kids and off to Silverwood Theme Park we went. Now, to be fair, I don’t think the kids ever thought Tremors was a “rough ride” before the upgrades. I mean, they are 10- and 12-year-old boys, and it is all just a thrill for them. But for Mom and Dad? We were excited to see just how smooth the ride would feel now following the seismic upgrades.
Once at the park, we headed straight for Tremors. There was a lot of excitement in the air following its re-opening. So, what did we think? All we can say is a collective WOW! Is it possible that they made one of our favorite rides at Silverwood Theme Park even better?! The answer is yes! Talk about smooth! I am shocked how smooth the ride really is now. And yet the ride still maintains its charm and that “out-of-control” thrill that you can only get when riding a wooden roller coaster. And what makes the thrill even more exciting for the kids? There are no more seat belts! Talk about exciting when you put your hands up in the air.
When the ride ended both of our boys jumped up out of the trains they were in and immediately exclaimed “let’s do that again!” as they ran to get back into line. We weren’t going to stop them. And since the ride now had a second train, that line was moving fast!
So, from the rider’s perspective, what does the seismic upgrades to Tremor really mean? It means a MUCH smoother ride, no “brain-rattling” or back pain, faster lines, and smiles all around from kids to Mom and Dad. Silverwood Theme Park does it again. They make the best even better. So, mark get the family together and head straight for Tremors when you get to the park. It really does measure up to all of the hype!
ABOUT THE CONDUCTOR
My name is Jessica. I’m a mom of two boys ages 9 and 11, and I’ve been married to my husband for nearly 14 years. In June of 2021 we decided to sell almost all of our belongings, buy a camper and some land, and move thousands of miles from anyone we knew to build our own family homestead. It’s been a wild adventure to say the least! If we’re not working on our land, you can find us out enjoying all that North Idaho has to offer. We love skiing (snowboarding for the boys), boating, fishing, hiking, and just everything outdoors! If you want to follow us along our journey, you can find us on instagram at PappyDaysRanch.
DON’T FORGET TO ENTER TO WIN 2 TICKETS TO THE PARK!
