Roller Coasters & Romance: The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Silverwood Date Night

Every relationship has its milestones.

There’s the excitement of a first date, the butterflies before your first kiss, the season of falling in love, the wedding day, and eventually, the beautiful chaos of raising a family together. Somewhere along the way, date nights become less frequent. They get replaced with soccer practices, grocery runs, bedtime routines, and endless to-do lists.

That’s exactly why making time for each other matters.

Whether you’re planning a first date, celebrating an anniversary, or simply looking for an excuse to reconnect, Silverwood offers something that’s surprisingly hard to find these days: a place where you can laugh, unplug, and simply enjoy being together.

My husband and I recently did just that.

Instead of our usual dinner-and-a-movie date, we headed to Silverwood for an evening of roller coasters, great food, beautiful views, and a little nostalgia.

We arrived at 4:00 p.m..The afternoon crowds had started to thin, the summer heat had mellowed, and golden hour was beginning to settle over the park.

Start with the Thrills

Most people ease into a date.

We did the exact opposite.

The moment we walked through the gates, we headed straight for Roller Coaster Alley with one mission: ride every roller coaster in the park.

As we pulled into the station for Aftershock, we looked at each other and laughed.

The last time we rode together was 15 years ago.

Back when we were dating.

Before marriage.

Before kids.

Before careers, mortgages, and all the wonderful responsibilities that come with building a life together.

For a few minutes, none of that existed. We were just two people laughing, screaming, and remembering exactly why we’d fallen in love with adventure together in the first place.

It reminded us that sometimes the best way to reconnect isn’t through a fancy dinner or an expensive getaway.Sometimes it’s simply sharing an experience that makes you both feel like kids again.

Take a Break at Lindy’s

After crossing several roller coasters off our list, we decided it was time to refuel.

Instead of a full meal, we ordered appetizers at Lindy’s and took a break from the excitement.

It gave us time to sit, people-watch, laugh about our favorite rides, and decide which ride we’d tackle next.

One of the things I loved most about this date was that there wasn’t a schedule. We weren’t rushing from one obligation to another. We simply got to enjoy each other’s company.

Slow Down and Wander

One of the biggest surprises of the evening wasn’t a ride.

It was just simply walking together.

Main Street is one of those places that invites you to slow down. The charming storefronts, colorful flowers, vintage details, and nostalgic atmosphere make it feel like you’ve stepped into another era.

We found ourselves holding hands, taking photos, and soaking up the atmosphere instead of rushing to the next attraction, although this could also be a fun leisurely thing to do en route to a romantic sunset train ride as well.

Whether it’s your first date or your fifteenth year together, don’t underestimate the romance of simply taking a walk together.

Don’t Forget the Huckleberry Lemonade

No Silverwood date feels complete without a huckleberry lemonade. Especially for us Huckleberry loving Montanans!

Drink in hand, we wandered through the park, enjoying every last bit of the evening as the sun began to dip lower in the sky. We also found the CUTEST photobooth located by the Ice creamery where we snapped a few silly date night pics to commemorate our date.

End the Night Above the Park

If you’re planning a Silverwood date, here’s one piece of advice:

Save the Ferris wheel for sunset.

Watching the park from above as the sky turned shades of gold and pink was easily one of the most romantic moments of the evening.

From the top, you can see the rides stretching across the park, the surrounding trees, and the lights slowly beginning to twinkle below.

It was peaceful.

It was beautiful.

And after a day full of adrenaline, it was the perfect way to slow down together.

Bring Home a Little Magic

Before heading home, we couldn’t resist trying our luck at a few midway games.

We walked away with stuffed toys for our girls, and honestly, surprising them with prizes from our date made the evening feel even sweeter. Fun fact – one of our daughters is obsessed with pickles and the other, avocados, so these toys could not have been more hilariously perfect.

It’s funny how the smallest moments often become the biggest memories.
