Ready to visit Silverwood with Teens this year??!! I’m a mom of 3 teenage daughters, and we would like to share what is the best part of this theme park for older kids! Silverwood with teens is a really fun day! My girls are 12, 13 and 19 now and there is a lot for them to enjoy every time we visit. If you’re going on a road trip you should definitely put this on your itinerary. We moved to Boise, Idaho a few years ago. Then we visited Coeur d Alene and Sandpoint and fell in love. Now we live in Northern Idaho and discovered this fun waterpark and theme park last summer! Since we came from SoCal we have visited quite a few amusement parks. My girls and I compare Silverwood to Knott’s Berry Farm and just love it. BUT the biggest difference is that the lines are MUCH shorter! Same thrill rides each time you visit, but a lot less time standing still. That is a huge win for all of us for sure. ๐
Here are the rides that my teens rated 5 stars:
Thunder Canyon
Perfect when it is HOT!
Aftershock and Corkscrew
For those who like upside-down rides!
Panic plunge
Quick dive down from the top to the bottom, adrenaline rush!
SpinCycle
A real rush, oh my.
Timber Terror
You can see this Wooden “old fashioned” thrill ride from the highway. I do not do thrill rides BUT I appreciate that there are lots of benches around so I can find shade while they ride. ๐
Now if you’re bringing teens, make sure they each bring their own backpack. Done are the days when “Mom carries everything,” Yay!! In each one of their packs make sure they each carry the following items:
- A bottle of water that can be refilled
- A cell phone is handy especially if they want to head off on their own and you want to stay in contact with them.
- Money is important so they can buy food – buying a refillable cup the first visit is a money saver too
- Bringing a jacket is handy because Idaho weather can change every 5 minutes ๐
- Sunscreen is always a must in our family when we go outside
- If y’all are visiting the waterpark side, of course, you’d need swimsuits and a plastic bag for wet clothing. We haven’t visited that side of the park yet though. When we do we will share our favorites there for older kids too.
- OH and be sure to bring a camera because there will be lots of great grins to capture throughout the day.

I never made it up to Silverwood when my kids were teens. I’d love to go with them as Young Adults, though.
Visitin the park as a young adult is the best part!! Then you can really enjoy everything you want, and the swim up bar in the lazy river ๐ cant wait go to this summer!!
