You’ve listed some really good tips here in your blogs…defiantly a worth to read up beforehand, not only a good and essential reading if you are a “STP Newbie”, but still helpful for those who are already a “STP Seasoned Vet”.
I’m SUPER excited about making the trek down this summer for my first visit to STP, coming down from the Vancouver, BC, Canada area.
Even though technically I’ll be a “STP Newbie”, this life long “Roller Coaster Freak” is actually very well seasoned…lol. Ever since my son was 6 (he’s now 23), on a regular basis throughout the years, we have been to numerous theme parks all over North America…he was hooked after his very first ride on the “Old Woody” here in Van City.
There is one important point that I’m taking the long way around to get to. That being, as quite an experienced “Theme Park Thrill Seeker”, please trust me when I say this, from having tons of theme park experience, my #1 tip for spending a (good) day at STP is:
***WEAR GOOD & COMFORTABLE FOOTWEAR!!!***
Lots of different things can make it a good day, or not, but I guarantee if your feet hurt and you aren’t comfortable the whole time, it will be a very long day, for all the wrong reasons…or a very short one and because you leave early.
Believe me, easily the #1 Tip…you’ll thank me for it.
Oh my gosh I had to comment I got to take my 10-year-old to Playland for the first time this year and being as I grew up down the street I was super excited to take him on “old Woody” and the “corkscrew” the corkscrew was gone, I found out while we were on the scrambler. I was nearly in tears, and old woody was being repaired 🤨…. But I’m super excited to be able to take him on the corkscrew since they sold it to Silverwood.!! And it’s so happens to be right by the scrambler!!! Ahhh sorry I had to share as it will be our first trip to STP this summer!! And I was one of the first on the corkscrew when it opened up!!

One of my favorite insider tips is that the candy store and the ice cream store and the souvenir shop by the entrance are all open early before the rides. Come early, put your gear in lockers, get your treats and hats and then when it officially opens you’re ready to get in line for the rides.

My tip is to go to the magic show at dinner time. You can order a pizza right there and eat while watching the show. This saves you some time so you can do more rides!
We always do the rollercoasters first, then to the waterpark, and end the day with magic or a train ride and some coasters again!

Drove past it for the 1st time last week. Kids were excited, the place looks amazing. Usually we go to a different park in Alberta but this year we are going Silverwood.

We have loved taking our kids to Silverwood over the years. I grew up on the wooden roller coasters! My tip would be plan for an afternoon train ride so the kids can nap on it.
I would love to come and visit Silverwood again. The last time I was there was summer of 1993.

We’ve been to Scarywood the last 2 years. My mom is moving to Liberty Lake this summer. She’s 80, loves roller coasters, and got the OK from her cardiologist. Can’t wait to bring her to Silverwood, but not Scarywood (she doesn’t like clowns lol).
