Silverwood is the ultimate family vacation destination in the Northwest. Between the thrilling roller coasters, Boulder Beach water park and live shows, Silverwood is the one spot our families insist on going to every single summer.
Silverwood’s water park, Boulder Beach, is a huge draw for families with kids of all ages. The park features water slides for all thrill levels, a lazy river, two wave pools, and the longest dueling water coaster in the country. Needless to say, we can (and have!) spend an entire day in Boulder Beach alone.
Here’s the thing about us, though. We love an upgrade. And while Boulder Beach is already a major upgrade from any other water park we’ve been to, we’ve found a way to make the experience even more amazing.

- Proximity to the Salmon Run and Eagle Hunt
You know how people say, “Location is everything?” Well, those people must have been referring to the Emerald Forest Cabanas, because the placement of these beauties could not be more perfect.
The Emerald Forest Cabanas border the Salmon Run, the new (as of last year!) water slide and splash pad area designed with younger kiddos in mind. Older kiddos can splash and slide while we watch from our comfy spot in the cabana, resting easy knowing that we can see them, and they know exactly where we are! (We always recommend sticking close to younger kiddos in the Salmon Run).
The Cabanas are also located a short distance from Eagle Hunt, named USA Today’s Best Water Coaster! This ride is a total blast, and being able to hop in line from our cozy cabana home base was a total luxury.
- Comfort and Shade
Listen, if you’re organized, you can 100% claim a shady, comfortable spot in Boulder Beach without renting a cabana.
The key word there is organized. In this stage of life, that word rarely fits in our vocabularies, especially in the summertime.
Luckily for us, renting the cabana ahead of time is pretty much as organized as we have to be when planning a trip to Boulder Beach. They take care of the comfort and shade aspect, so we can relax and enjoy our day.
The cabanas are roomy and come outfitted with a table and four chairs and two chaise lounges. Plenty of space for both of our families to rest, dine, and plan which water slide we’re heading to next.
The shade aspect also cannot be overstated, especially with younger kiddos in tow. We take pretty frequent breaks from the sun during the day, and love having a spot we can go to where the kids can get a break (and we can reapply their sunscreen!). Renting a cabana at Emerald Forest allows us all to take a breath and hop right back in when we’re ready!
- Amenities
One of the best parts about renting a cabana is all of the amenities! Every cabana includes a refrigerator, a safe, a table with four chairs, and two chaise lounges.
The safe is the perfect place to stick our wallets, phones, and keys. This gives us the peace of mind needed to go out and enjoy all that Boulder Beach has to offer, without worrying about how safe our things are.
A refrigerator in the cabana means we don’t have to worry about bringing a cooler with us when we head to Boulder Beach. We stick our waters, protein bars, juice, lunch, and even fresh fruit in there to stay cold and refreshing until we’re ready for them.
We use the table and chairs constantly. Anyone who has ever brought kids to a water park knows how often they need to stop to eat! We can easily grab food from the fridge and the kiddos can enjoy right at the table. The fact that the table and chairs are inside the cabana gives the added bonus of much needed shade time.
There are two chaise lounges included with the cabana, and they’re perfect for rest time! The kids love to lay on them in the sun when they’re fresh out of the water. We pull them into the shade when we’re ready to relax, and when it’s time to feed the baby and let her nap.
- VIP Perks
Renting an Emerald Cove Cabana also comes with VIP Perks, enhancing the trip even more.
Wristbands allow guests VIP entrance to Cabana Coolers, The Cove, and Northern Flights. No waiting in long lines if you have this wristband!
Guests who have rented a cabana also get two free tubes for the lazy river, and two souvenir towels to take home.
A QR code in the cabana allows guests to order food from their phones, which is delivered directly to the cabana. This came in so handy for us at dinner time, when the kiddos were exhausted and hungry after a long day.
- The Perfect Home Base
Our favorite thing about renting a cabana is that it’s the perfect home base for our large group. We were able to separate when needed while knowing exactly where we would be able to meet up again. This is so important for a group like ours with four kiddos at different ages! The older kids could go on the big water slides while the younger ones napped and snacked, without worrying about how we would find each other again.
For us, the perfect home base offers the comforts of home. Snack breaks, rest time in the shade, and sunscreen re-applying could all happen easily in the privacy cabana, like we were in our own backyards. Being able to leave all of our things in one spot safely throughout the day made us feel so comfortable and relaxed when we went out to play.
Renting an Emerald Forest Cabana at Boulder Beach is the best way to upgrade your water park experience. Cabanas offer the privacy, space, and convenience needed to enjoy your day at the water park, while also having access to all of the comforts of home. For us, there is no better experience than that!
