5 Ways for Moms to Have the Best Day at Silverwood

Moms, this one’s for you! Days at Silverwood can (and should!) be fun for the entire family. Here are five things to do to make sure you enjoy the day just as much as the kids do:

  1. Start your day with an iced coffee

Right after you walk in the front gates, the Coffee Roasting and Trading Co. is on your left. It’s the perfect spot to grab a latte or blended drink before all the fun begins. A little caffeine goes a long way and it sets the tone for some mom-centered joy right from the start. Need a mid-day pick-me-up? Head to the Victorian Coffee House (just outside Boulder Beach) or Coaster Alley Refreshments (near Tremors!) for a second round: coffee or Lotus-style.

  1. Get a to-go drink from Lindy’s

Here’s your hot afternoon tip: grab a cocktail to-go from Lindy’s and take a relaxing ride on the train! Lindy’s is the sit-down restaurant just steps from the train station (great spot to grab a burger, by the way). Get yourself a cocktail, pick a seat on the train (under the shaded, covered portion!), and take a breather for 30 minutes. You can choose between A Trip to Yesteryear (laid-back and relaxing) or The Great Train Robbery show (a little more action-packed). Either way, it’s the perfect mom reset.

  1. Treat yourself to a sweet treat

Whatever your go-to dessert is: you can find it at Silverwood (and you should.) Fudge, giant scoops of ice cream, fresh pastries, funnel cakes….the list goes on and on. My favorite? The churro fries. You can find them in Boulder Beach or at the Sugar Shack in Silverwood. They are churros the size of french fries served warm and topped with cinnamon sugar. You also get to choose from strawberry sauce, huckleberry sauce or whipped cream as your dipping side (HIGHLY recommend the huckleberry sauce!). Bonus points if you don’t have to share it! Afterall, you deserve a little sugar rush just for surviving the water slides and sunscreen reapplications.

4. Rent a cabana at Boulder Beach

Moving over to Boulder Beach: renting a cabana is a splurge WELL worth it. This “home base” will make your mom life so much easier. It’s a place to stash your stuff, have snack breaks or take a stroller nap. Having younger kids, I prefer the cabanas near Salmon Run. This way, my 5 and 6-year-old can go play in the splash pad or on the mini-slides while I can put your feet up for a minute in the shade…but still have eyes on them!

5. Enjoy a slow float on the lazy river (with a drink in hand!)

You haven’t truly relaxed until you’ve floated around the lazy river with a frozen drink from The Cove. Located between the two lazy river entrances, this float-up bar serves frozen margaritas, piña coladas, strawberry daiquiris, and more. It’s basically the theme park version of a spa day – and a mom must-do.

Silverwood is packed with kid-friendly fun, but don’t forget to build in a little joy for you, too. These small mom moments? They add up to one really great day.
